Visual Arts

Area of Study: VISUAL ARTS
Session 2: July 8 – July 20, 2012
Grades: 4 – 12

The YMA Visual Arts Program helps students of all abilities search for their personal best. Students explore the creative approach to solving problems in two and three dimensional forms in four hours of class each day. Artist-instructors encourage an adventuresome attitude on the part of students to try out new techniques and materials as well as time-honored ones, making the Visual Arts Program an enjoyable and exciting learning experience.

Subjects may include DRAWING, PAINTING, WATERCOLOR, SCULPTURE, and more.

A highlight of the program is a one-day session featuring a guest artist who encourages the students to explore his or her unique artistic process.

As part of the total visual arts experience, the students’ work is presented in a professional manner in a Visual Arts Opening the second Thursday of the session.

The YMA art faculty will provide students with the confidence and skills to seek and express more clearly their individual vision.
