As one of the Northwest’s accomplished saxophonists, it’s Clark Bondy’s versatility that deserves attention. Though working as a band-leader and soloist in an array of concerts, studio sessions, private engagements, clubs, and churches, Clark is much in demand as a private studio instructor, clinician and guest artist. Clark has performed throughout North America for scores of events, with international recording artists as a member of the house band for the television show Nightlight, saxman for the Shanghai Woolies, and freelance session musican on hundreds of commercial and published recordings like Wee Sing® which has sold over 50 million worldwide.
He directs the award-winning Whiskey Hill Jazz Club, instrumental music at Damascus Christian School (1992-2006), Central Catholic High School (1998-2002), and is the Artist in Residence at the Phonics Phactory Christian School in Gresham. Clark serves on the woodwind faculties of Northwest colleges and music schools. Mr. Bondy has also worked as an Associate Pastor of Music and and Youth and holds a B.A. in Music Education from Warner Pacific College.
Mr. Bondy’s students are perennial outstanding soloists at regional jazz festivals, finalists at district and state solo competitions, and performers in honor ensembles like the International Grammy Jazz Band, the Portland Youth Philharmonic, the Metropolitan Youth Symphony, All-State, and All-Northwest concert and jazz bands. In addition, many have gone on to pursue careers in music winning scholarships to universities in a dozen states, and to conservatories such as Wheaton, Berklee, New England, and Paris.
